Martin King-Turner - Managing Director

Martin is Managing Director of the National B2B Centre with over 20 years experience applying IT and digital technologies and practices to real-world business challenges.

Martin started his professional life in the CAD/CAM business unit at IBM and subsequently helped a wide range of engineering and manufacturing companies to implement CAD/CAM and ERP solutions. He then moved into IT management and held a number of senior management positions focused on embedding and exploiting digital technology within organisations.

Martin is passionate about ensuring businesses take maximum advantage of the opportunities offered by technology and continually seeks new ways in which the B2B Centre can help.

Martin delivers the B2B Centre's Cloud training course and is a guest lecturer on the business aspects of Cloud Computing for the University of Warwick’s WMG faculty.

Steve Orriss - Director of Consulting and Operations

Steve’s role as a National B2B Centre Director is to deliver consulting to clients and manage contracts to ensure delivery of exceptional value and service to our customers. He has led delivery of programmes funded by customers including Advantage West Midlands, Business Link and Coventry City Council.

Steve’s early career was in engineering, designing and implementing manufacturing, automation and control systems followed by 20 years of consulting experience with IBM and the National B2B Centre largely solving business issues with ICT solutions. He is skilled in identifying business, process and system requirements for e-business, Customer Relationship Management (CRM) and Manufacturing solutions for both Blue Chip businesses and SMEs.

Steve also delivers training in CRM for the Centre drawing on his many years of consulting experience. He has lectured on CRM and Supply Chain at the University of Warwick and presented on many IT related issues for prestigious organisations including the UN, EU and Warwick Business School.

James Pennington - Associate E-Business Consultant and Trainer

James's primary focus is helping clients understand how the adoption of IT can improve business operations. He has worked with a wide range of B2B Centre clients to reduce costs, improve their ROI on IT investment, increase sales and gain an overall competitive advantage.

He initially graduated with an Honours degree in Biological Science before moving onto a research programme at the University of Warwick focused on collaborative and team working in the automotive sector. This stimulated James's interest in how organisations can most effectively implement technologies and led to a range of projects in both the public and private sector.

James has become a sought after speaker on topics such as SEO (search engine optimisation) , Google Analytics and online selling for many organisations and networking groups.

Gareth Edwards - Associate E-Marketing Consultant and Trainer

Gareth's remit is both to help SMEs use eMarketing tools for business success and manage the Centre’s marketing activities including our regular newsletter and social media activity on Twitter and LinkedIn.

Gareth started his career as an IT Consultant with Midland’s software house ISTEL before switching into marketing when the company was acquired by AT&T.

Over the past 15 years Gareth has provided marketing consultancy to a variety of businesses. He is now heavily focused on assisting SMEs to create exciting, sales generating content that can be distributed to targeted audiences via websites, Blogs and social media outlets. 

As a trainer Gareth is able to draw upon his extensive hands-on experience as a technologist, marketer and consultant to provide a highly practical perspective to small and medium sized businesses.  Gareth’s focus is on helping delegates to identify their compelling business stories and then use all of the new digital marketing channels available to tell those stories to the people that matter.

Sammy Rose MBA, MCIM - Associate Consultant

For the last 20 years Sammy has specialised in helping clients with business growth goals by looking at existing market positioning and determining how to move forward with regards to product innovation, approaching new markets and putting into place and executing appropriate sales and marketing activities.

Prior to establishing her own award winning marketing company in 1992, Sammy was Consumer Products Manager for Land Rover; responsible for the development and management of the Land Rover gifts and leisurewear brand ‘First Choice’.

Before this she worked with Land Rover as an export market researcher and the Newey Group, providers of sewing aids and fashion fastenings, in the areas of sales, exhibitions and new product development.

Sammy has also worked as a Business Advisor for several Business Links and other support agencies, giving her solid experience in understanding the culture and mechanisms of SME businesses.

Sammy is Regional Champion for the Chartered Institute of Marketing; here she champions the institute to SME`s.  She is Managing Director of 2 other SME businesses, one in construction and the other in the marine industry, providing her with first hand experience of the challenges of running a small business.

Eric Witham - Associate Consultant

Before establishing his own consulting business in 2005, Eric had 20 years experience in technical development, quality management and implementation of business management systems, within both manufacturing and service industries. These included, automotive tier 1 component manufacturing, packaging, high volume furniture manufacturing, and holding global responsibility for quality management strategy and programs, within a multi-national logistics organisation.

As a consultant Eric has specialised in assisting senior management teams, of private and public sector organisations, from both small SME’s, to global corporations, to assess their organisations, against recognised management system standards and business models, such as the EFQM Excellence Model. Eric is particularly passionate about providing SME’s with guidance to develop and implement organisational improvement plans, utilising a range of business improvement tools, in order to ‘take them to the next level’.

Eric has worked as an Assessor for Accredit UK for a number of years, and he was extensively involved in engaging with SME’s within the ICT sector, to develop rigorous, but ‘SME business friendly’ standards, and then providing coaching to improve their businesses to achieve certification, and set objectives for improvement. This has provided Eric with solid experience in both, understanding, and responding realistically to the wide ranging challenges encountered by SME businesses. For a number of years, Eric has acted as a Senior Assessor of applicants to the annual Midlands Excellence Awards.

Richard Mooney FCIM - Associate Consultant

Analytical, highly qualified and equally at home in corporate or owner-managed businesses, Richard brings extensive experience to helping clients grow through the adoption of professional marketing and management processes.

Prior to deciding on a consulting career, Richard held a number of senior international roles with blue-chip engineers, leading large, multi-cultural teams in sales, distribution and aftermarket functions. During eight years of consulting, Richard has successfully mentored and assisted clients in sectors as diverse as heavy engineering, luxury furniture and tourism both in the UK and overseas.

Apart from the 'day job', Richard is a Chartered Fellow of the Institute of Marketing. He organises continuous professional development events for other marketers and as Small Business Ambassador gives talks to SMEs about the benefits they can gain from digital marketing.

Mark Bonnett - Associate E-Business Consultant

Mark specialises in website design and usability. He has supported a large number of clients through the B2B web-site planning process: helping them to recognise the marketing context of their website and to specify more accurately the business requirements of their site for website developers.

Mark graduated with a Bsc in Geography and then completed his studies with an MSc in E-Commerce, before joining the B2B Centre.

As a website expert Mark is now a recognised source of knowledge on content management systems (CMS) and the Joomla open source CMS in particular. He has also become the main point of contact on the Application of tools such as PPC (Page-per-click), analytics and website tracking.

Andrew Gordon - Associate Trainer

Andrew Lloyd Gordon is a qualified professional marketer with 15 years experience of Digital Marketing. He has helped launch, manage and promote just about every type of web and ecommerce project for a list of clients from blue chip organisations to small SME's in both the Public and Private sector.

Andrew is an experienced trainer and runs several digital marketing courses for the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM), the Institute of Direct Marketing (IDM), econsultancy.com and others. He is also an Associate Lecturer on the Msc in Digital Marketing Communications at Manchester Metropolitan University.

Rob Mannion - Associate Trainer

Rob specialises in mobile technologies and specifically how Apps can be used within business to help support and improve existing processes and where possible identifying new revenue opportunities.

Rob began his career at IBM where for 7 years he specialised in e-business. Positioned between the sales and delivery areas of the organisation, he focussed on building proposals and guiding them through the costing and approval process. Following this he was a senior manager for a national charity and has set up several businesses, most recently he founded the IT Company RNF Solutions, based in Warwick.

For the last 2 years Rob has been at the sharp end of mobile technologies and has a wealth of experience in terms of the process of delivering apps, building and developing requirements, costing and the creation of successful business models for mobile Apps.  He currently delivers the "Differentiate your Business with Mobile Apps" workshop for the B2B Centre.

Jackie King-Turner BA (Hons), MBA - Sales Coach and Associate Consultant

Jackie’s passion is working with organisations to put the customer focus into their sales offerings.

She is a qualified Coach and Master Practitioner in Neuro Linguistic Programming and has an MBA from Warwick Business School. Prior to becoming a consultant, Jackie delivered on her sales and sales management targets across a diversity of organisations, from SMEs to Global organisations.

Tracy has run her own business since 2000 and in total has 28 years’ experience in the I.T. industry. A Fellow of the Institute of Consulting and a Member of the Chartered Management Institute, Tracy actively seeks to help businesses improve their understanding and application of I.T. systems.

A registered PRINCE2 practitioner, Tracy has managed projects ranging from small implementations to full system replacements in excess of £1 million.
