Martin King-Turner - Centre Director

Martin is Director of the National B2B Centre with over 20 years experience applying ICT and e-business technologies and practices to real-world business challenges.

Martin started his professional life in the CAD/CAM business unit at IBM and subsequently helped a wide range of engineering and manufacturing companies to implement CAD/CAM and ERP solutions. He then moved into ICT management and held a number of senior management positions focused on embedding and exploiting ICT and e-business within organisations.

Martin is passionate about ensuring small businesses take maximum advantage of the opportunities offered by e-business and continually seeks new ways in which the B2B Centre can help.

Martin King-Turner
Steve Orriss - Lead E-Business Consultant

Steve leads the consulting team at the B2B Centre and is responsible for ensuring that we deliver all our commitments to our funding bodies, ERDF and AWM.

He has 12 years management consulting experience gained with IBM and the B2B Centre. His early career was in engineering, designing and implementing manufacturing, automation and control systems, especially with Unilever, where he was recognised as an expert in manufacturing Ice Cream. Steve is both a Certified Management Consultant and a Chartered Engineer.

Steve specialises in ebusiness strategy and planning, and development of customer requirements for solutions such as Customer Relationship Management (CRM), Business Management systems and websites where his experience of business process mapping is particularly useful.

Steve Orriss
James Pennington - Lead IT Consultant

James's primary focus is helping small and medium sized businesses understand how the adoption of ICT (Information and Communications Technology) can improve business operations. He has assisted a wide range of B2B Centre clients to reduce costs, improve their ROI on ICT investment, increase sales and gain an overall competitive advantage.

He initially graduated with an Honours degree in Biological Science before moving onto a research programme at the University of Warwick focused on collaborative and team working in the automotive sector. This stimulated James's interest in how organisations can most effectively implement technologies and led to a range of projects in both the public and private sector.

James has become a sought after speaker on topics such as SEO (search engine optimisation) and social networking for many West Midlands support organisations and networking groups.

James Pennington
Rayhan Abdulmughnee- E-Business Consultant

Rayhan has a track record of helping businesses use E-Business technologies to improve profitability and reduce costs. He has a BA in Communication Studies from California State University and an MSc in Entrepreneurship, Science and Technology from the University of Nottingham.

He has helped organisations in North America, Europe and Asia to implement technology solutions, which are aligned to their business goals, ranging from developing E-commerce strategies to implementing custom designed Business Management Systems, ERP and CRM solutions.

Rayhan has a particular interest in the exploitation of Mobile and Wireless technologies (such as RFID tagging and Bluetooth marketing) in businesses.

Rayhan Abdulmughnee
Mark Bonnett - E-Business Consultant

Mark specialises in website design and usability. He has supported a large number of clients through the B2B web-site planning process: helping them to recognise the marketing context of their website and to specify more accurately the business requirements of their site for website developers.

Mark graduated with a Bsc in Geography and then completed his studies with an MSc in E-Commerce, before joining the B2B Centre. As a website expert Mark is now a recognised source of knowledge on content management systems (CMS) and the Joomla open source CMS in particular. He has also become the main point of contact on the Application of tools such as PPC (Page-per-click), analytics and website tracking.

Mark Bonnett
Marie Greene - Project Administrator
Marie is the newest recruit to the B2B Centre. An experienced Project Administrator, Marie co ordinates the B2B’s work on assisting West Midland’s SMEs, marketing activities, and information related to our business operations.
 
Marie is a graduate from the University of Nottingham; she has travelled extensively throughout the U.S. Her social and communication skills will be a great asset as she gets more involved in the day to day activities of the B2B centre.

Marie Greene - Project Administrator, the National B2B Centre
Gareth Edwards - eMarketing specialist.

Gareth's remit is both to help SMEs use eMarketing tools for business success and manage the Centre’s marketing activities (including the highly successful newsletter and the rapidly expanding LinkedIn group).

Gareth started his career as an IT Consultant with Midland’s software house ISTEL before switching into marketing when the company was acquired by AT&T.

Over the past 15 years Gareth has provided marketing consultancy to a variety of businesses. He is now heavily focused on assisting SMEs to create exciting, sales generating content that can be distributed to targeted audiences via websites, Blogs and social media outlets.
